Robert Kubica posted the fastest time on the fourth day of F1 testing -albeit on softer tyres- at the Circuit De Catalunya!
The Polish reserve driver managed to post a 1:16.942 to go four tenths quicker than any other driver. Kubica handed the car to Kimi Raikkonen for the afternoon session with the Finn clearly working on race pace with a fastest time of a 1:19.515 and 51 laps completed.
Once again Ferrari have shown very little signs of promising performance with Sebastian Vettel setting a fastest time of 1:18.113 and Charles Leclerc with a 1:18.244. Despite the lack of pace, Ferrari managed 164 laps throughout the day, despite a spin for Vettel in the morning session.
🏁 CLASSIFICATION (END OF DAY 4) 🏁
P1 for Kubica 💪
Solid lapping all-round for our 1️⃣9️⃣ runners
Racing Point’s impressive pace continued into the second week of testing with Sergio Perez 3rd fastest overall and Lance Stroll 8th fastest. As well as good laptimes, Racing Point managed to clock 127 laps.
Mercedes didn’t show many signs of going for laptimes with Hamilton and Bottas 7th and 9th respectively but once again, the world champions recorded the most mileage of the day with a very impressive 179 laps!
There are only two more days of testing until we see the cars in Australia for the first time!
