The British Touring Car Championship will visit Silverstone twice in 2020 after Alan Gow revealed a shaken up calendar for next season.
The season will no longer start at Brands Hatch, but at Donington Park, the first time the series won’t start on the Indy layout of the Kent circuit since 2005, however the series will return there for the second round of the championship.
The current Silverstone round, which races on the national circuit will now take place in late April, before going to Thruxton for round four in its traditional mid-May slot. The second Thruxton weekend has been discontinued.
The series then visits Oulton Park but Snetterton then splits that traditional Oulton-Croft rounds, as the Croft round moves to mid-August.
The annual trip to Scotland takes place on the final weekend of August as the series visits Knockhill, before the series returns to Silverstone, on the International Layout, which sees the series use the half of the circuit that was re-profiled for Formula One in 2010, and will involve the teams using the Wing complex for the first time.
The season will then conclude, as per usual, on the Grand-Prix circuit at Brands Hatch.
