Jamie Chadwick won what was almost a lights to flag win in the first ever W Series Race at Hockenheim ahead of Alice Powell and Marta Garcia.
Chadwick led from pole, but made a mistake at the hairpin on the opening lap gifting the lead to Sarah Moore, who started third. The Safety Car was deployed shortly after as Magan Gilkes missed her breaking point and crashed into Emma Kimilainen, who had already stalled from fourth and was recovering through the field.
On the restart Chadwick took no time in re-passing Moore for the lead, which Alice Powell would too make advantage of, the Oxonian going onto challenge her fellow Brit. Moore would drop to sixth over the course of the following laps.
With Powell closing in on Chadwick, Garcia was also closing in on the top two while Vicky Piria went for a spin on the exit of the hairpin. Chadwick started to pull away from Powell and ensured that she recieved all 25 points ahead of Powell who just kept Garcia at bay. Beitske Visser ended fourth ahead of Sarah Moore who rounded out the Top 5.
The series resumes in Zolder in two weeks time.
