Marc Marquez took home a dominant win, leading from lights to flag to take his first win in 2019 ahead of Valentino Rossi and Andrea Dovizioso!
The Repsol Honda man won by 9.8 seconds and now leads the world championship by 4 points from Dovizioso.
There really wasn’t much to report from Marquez, apart from the fact that his pace was absolutely stunning! There were only a handful of laps that were not in the 1:39’s and those that were in the 1:40’s were low 1:40’s.
Valentino Rossi had a brilliant race, constantly battling Dovizioso and despite being behind the Ducati for the last few laps, Rossi made his move on the last lap at turn 7 to take home his first podium since the German Grand Prix!
After the disaster in Qatar, Jack Miller had a very deserved 4th place finish. Miller just didn’t have the pace of Rossi and Dovizioso to take a rare podium but a strong finish nonetheless.
Alex Rins had a disappointing qualifying starting way down in 16th but today, he managed to make his way up to 5th!
Maverick Vinales was onto finish in 6th just ahead of Franco Morbidelli and Danilo Petrucci but on the last lap, Morbidelli broke too late into turn 7 and took himself out along with Vinales. This meant that Danilo Petrucci finished in 6th with Takaaki Nakagami in 7th and Fabio Quartararo in 8th.
The Espargaro brothers finished in 9th and 10th with Aleix in the Aprilia finishing ahead of Pol in the KTM.
Last year’s race winner, Cal Crutchlow was on course to fight for the podium but a very debatable jump start penalty resulted in a ride through penalty and a disappointing 13th position.
