Maverick Vinales came within a tenth of the unofficial lap record on the 2nd day of testing.
The Yamaha rider posted a 1:58.897 on his penultimate lap of the day to give Yamaha a well needed boost ahead of the 2019 season.
Once again, Alex Rins was the 2nd fastest rider but was over half a second behind Vinales with a 1:59.424 closely followed by Pramac’s Jack Miller with a 1:59.517.
After being fastest yesterday, Marc Marquez could only manage 8th in the standings with a 1:59.790 (slower than yesterday) but was looking at more consistent laptime after his shoulder surgery.
Despite an earlier crash in the day, Cal Crutchlow is looking better on his LCR Honda second by second and managed to post a 1:59.566 which put him 5th overall.
