Repsol Honda’s long serving rider Dani Pedrosa will not be part of the works team from next season.
Pedrosa has been with the works Honda since 2006 but has had a poor season including last time out in Mugello where he qualified 20th and crashed out on the opening lap. This all means that he lies 12th in the standings and has been constantly out qualified and out raced by his teammate Marq Marquez.
The next question for Repsol Honda is who will replace Pedrosa? Originally, Honda looked like they wanted Johann Zarco before the Frenchman decided to move to KTM for 2019. This means that they could be after a rider such as either Cal Crutchlow or Jorge Lorenzo.
Lorenzo could be a possibility after it looks like he is nailed on to leave Ducati but then scored his first win in red last time out in Mugello. Crutchlow could be a sensible option as he is already part of the Honda team at LCR but it seems that the Brit likes the team he already has so he might not want change.
Another rider Honda could be after is last years Moto3 World Champion Joan Mir. However, it seems that Suzuki are going to sign Joan Mir after Andrea Iannone announced he was going to leave the Japanese outfit.
Another question now is where will Dani Pedrosa go? There is a lot of moving around in the paddock and now teams will be looking at another quick rider knocking on the window for a seat.
