Gary Paffett stood on the top of the podium today in his second victory of the season.
Starting from third, the Brit passed Pascal Wehrlein, taking advantage of a move on pole sitter, Phillip Eng.
Eng’s race pace didn’t hold up and he soon fell behind Wehrlein and Wittmann. Paffet pitted early and held a strong lead. With three minutes remaining, Wittmann closed the gap to 1.5s, still out of DRS range. Paffett manged to hold on and secure his second win of the season.
Wittmann managed second, his best result of the year so far, with Wehrlein in third.
Paul di Resta managed a staggering recovery from 15th on the grid to finish fourth after an early pit stop strategy.
Glock pitted late and fought back through the top ten, eventually finishing fifth to hold a points lead over Paffett.
Jamie Green ran an amazing race, pitting on lap one and managing his tyres until the end of the race, passing Eng on the last lap.
