A surprising announcement from the Brazilian ex F1 driver today reveals a three year deal to drive with Formula E team Venturi.
After retiring not once but twice from Formula 1, it seems Massa is not ready to hang up his race suit just yet. He will be driving the Gen2 car revealed earlier in the year for Venturi.
He had this to say.
“For some years now, I’ve been clear about my interest in this innovative, forward-looking discipline that’s developing exponentially. I especially like the format of race meetings, the city-centre circuits and the contact with the fans. I can’t wait to take part in testing at the end of the month.”
Team boss Gildo Pastor commented.
“Felipe’s 15 years’ experience in Formula 1 will definitely give us a boost. And with his humble nature, I know he will listen to the team and master the discipline quickly.”
It certainly seems like an interesting step, we’ve seen some of the younger drivers make the move from F1 to FE, but now for a much more established name to do it suggests the series is looking to carry on growing it’s interest.
Best of luck to him!
